The man accused of shooting at Roasted in Salemtown has been charged with murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – The man accused of causing a mass shooting at a Nashville restaurant on Easter Sunday has now been indicted on murder and aggravated assault charges.

Anton Lamick Rucker now faces 11 charges related to the events at Roasted in Salemtown. Six months ago, eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene in which Rucker allegedly opened fire during a Sunday brunch, sparking panic and chaos. Allen Beachem, 33, died in the shooting. Many people were injured.

Here are Rucker’s allegations:

  • Two counts of first-degree murder
  • One count of attempted first-degree murder
  • One count of unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Six counts of assault with a deadly weapon
  • One count of felony possession of a dangerous weapon after a prior felony conviction

Rucker’s criminal history dates back to 1995, when he was just 18 years old and initially faced charges of driving without a license. Over the years, his crimes escalated, ranging from reckless driving to drug possession, illegal weapons possession, aggravated assaults and evading arrest.
A year ago this month, Rucker was arrested in Murfreesboro on a drug charge and then in August on aggravated assault and gun possession charges. Court records show that Rucker got into an argument with a driver who appeared in traffic court last August when he accused Rucker of cutting him off.

In July, a federal grand jury indicted Rucker on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a firearm.
