Badie was injured following a tackle from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams during the first quarter at MetLife Stadium.

He was able to make his way to the sideline under his own steam after the tackle.

Badie appeared to be holding his back as he stood by the Broncos’ benches.

The 24-year-old former Missouri Tigers rusher collapsed shortly afterward.

Medics rushed to Badie’s aid, with the running back immediately placed on a backboard and fitted with a neck brace.

He appeared to be conscious and speaking to medics as he was carted from the field to the locker room.

The Broncos initially claimed Badie was questionable to return with a back injury, per The Denver Post.

He has since been ruled out for the remainder of the contest in New Jersey.

Badie was a sixth-round draft pick in 2022.

He was initially selected by the Baltimore Ravens, but was picked up by the Broncos later that year.

Bo Nix ‘may be the real deal’ NFL fans claim after rookie’s quarterback’s eye-catching performance for Denver Broncos

The Louisiana native spent all of the 2023 season and the first three weeks of this season on the Broncos’ practice squad.

He was promoted to the active roster earlier this week after taking nine carries for 70 yards in Week 3.

“Prayers up for Badie,” wrote one fan on X as the NFL world responded to the incident.

“Praying he’s going to be ok,” said another.

The game at MetLife continued, with the Jets leading 6-0 at halftime.

The incident occurred just a fortnight after Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was rushed to retire after a brutal concussion.

Tagovailoa was initially begged to quit the sport in 2022 by a concussion expert after suffering three huge hits.

The league changed its concussion protocol after he returned to a game despite being unsteady on his feet, per ESPN.
