Tom Brady blasts Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and here’s what he said

If you’re even remotely familiar with the seven-time Super Bowl winner, you almost certainly know that his success wasn’t achieved solely through talent, but through grit, determination, and a maniacal obsession with perfection. Indeed, it was this last part that took center stage recently when the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback talked about the man he is currently trying to fill the shoes of.

Tom Brady responds to Baker Mayfield in typical fashion

Earlier this month Baker Mayfield they turned their heads as he seemingly fired Tom Brady, stating that the legendary point guard made his teammates feel “stressed” during his tenure with the franchise, it must be said that it ended with a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Needless to say, the reaction was always predictable, and Brady, who currently works in the FOX Sports booth as an analyst, did not disappoint those who were hoping for a little spice to start the season. But before we get to that, let’s take a look at what Mayfield said about the man many consider the greatest to ever play the game:

“The building was a little different when Tom was in it. Of course, when it comes to playing, Tom is different. Everyone was connected, the atmosphere was tense, so I think everyone was quite stressed. Mayfield said. “They wanted me to come in, be myself and bring the fun back to football for the guys who weren’t having as much fun.”

This brings us back to Brady, who was less than subtle in his response to Mayfield, explaining that the football team is not a place where the most important thing is having fun, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’re in the wrong place. Indeed, Brady was honest in his opinion, as he seemed to indicate that it is ideas like these that make the difference between players and teams that win titles and those that simply compete. Like we said, the retired quarterback wasn’t subtle. See for yourself:

“I thought it was stressful not having Super Bowl rings,” Brady said. “It wasn’t kindergarten… If I wanted to have fun, I went to Disneyland with the kids. This game can be approached in a different way and it requires the right attitude to put pressure on your teammates.” We are far from arguing with the greatest NFL players, but we must ask ourselves whether it is possible to constantly win anything without joy. Nevertheless, we agree with the GOAT on this point, which means Mayfield should have chosen his words more carefully.
